“A portrait of our children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

Mowgli: In bliss climbing steps.
Coco: Is growing cheekier by the day.
Juju: Is pretending to be a butterfly.

A glorious Autumn day.

A meander around the Melbourne Botanical Gardens with family.

Chasing two cheeky toddlers around the duck pond.

A little girl flapping like a butterfly.

A picnic lunch.

A GREAT day!

(Now only five weeks behind in The 52 Project. I may have to bombard you with photos to catch up. I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.)

Juju: She adores playing behind the curtains with her brothers, especially Coco.
Coco: His latest obsession.
Mowgli: Teething in style.

The twins are obsessed with Thomas at the moment. Coco has barely put his toy down- except the time I ripped the little tank engine out of his hand after he ran it up and down my breast shrieking “choo choo” with my nipple in his mouth.

Life has been busy. The kids are at a pretty demanding and exhausting stage of life.

Part of me is counting down to the day we can hitch “Wallabee” and hit the road as a family.

The other part of me is feeling panicked at the thought of three little monsters in a 28 foot space.

At this stage, we’re looking at August 1st as our departure date, but it depends how Mum’s broken hip is healing. Her fall has put a spanner in the works and may change which direction we travel around Australia.

If you have a favourite place in Australia or someone interesting you think we should visit, we would love to hear from you.

“A portrait of our children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

Juju: She is growing up too quickly.
Coco: He has moved away from his toilet obsession and now loves sinks.
Mowgli: Chilling out with a strawberry milkshake. (For once he is leaving my poor boobs alone!)

Up the street from our house is a crusty coffee shop with a beaten-up caravan in the back garden that all my children love to play in.

They make the worst coffee ever, but I sometimes take the kids so I can have a break from the local park. The twins are running me ragged these days.

Inside this funky vintage caravan they’re contained. I only have to worry about them falling off the sink, slamming their fingers in the cupboard doors, pushing each other down the caravan step or eating bark!

I’m five weeks behind posting photos for Jodi’s fabulous 52 project and it’s crazy how much the weather in Melbourne has changed in that time.

In this photo my babies were barefoot and running wild. Now its wintercoats, beanies and scarves.

Why Are We Doing This?

Reblogged from 'Are We There Yet?':

When we tell people that we are heading off around Australia, travelling with 3 kids aged 7 and under, with a camper trailer to live in which is probably smaller than the size of your average bedroom, for the next 6 or 7 months - many people think we are totally bonkers!!

I know that perhaps it does seem crazy to jam a family together in such a confined environment for over 6 months, and maybe financially irresponsible to put the mortgage on hold, a step backwards to sell many of the possessions we have spent so many years accumulating, and perhaps even detrimental to the kids schooling .........

The Happy Forest

On the weekend, Kate Berry took us to her “top secret happy place” in the forest for a photoshoot.

And yes Kate, it has now become one of our  happy places too.

It was so peaceful we could actually hear the autumn leaves falling from the trees. Looking up into the pine trees was breathtaking.

So much so, that afterwards we ended up boondocking for the night.

These are some of Kate’s photos that I have lifted from her website – they were so beautiful I couldn’t wait to share them.

Kate, you rock. And if anyone is looking for a photographer in Sydney or Melbourne, check out hellokateberry!

P.S. How Brady Bunch do we look in these photos? I wish every day was all giggles and hoot. I could live without the whingeing.

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

Coco: This is what happens when you turn your back on him for ten seconds.
Mowgli: Another happy little Vegemite.
Juju: Still wearing “that” tutu and she has now added a tiara to her get-up.

I’m about 3 weeks behind in my posts for the 52 project.

Life at the moment is chaotic, its exhausting, its relentless. But there are always magical moments, even on the very worst days.

“A portrait of our children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

Juju: Proud of her “pink” crown.
Mowgli: More interested in eating off the stickers.
Coco: Wasn’t quite sure what to do with his. He attempted to flush it down the toilet but was put on the right track by his big sister.

One of the rare days when I managed to do craft with the kids and it didn’t end in disaster.
